In July the New Zealand SAMBO federation with assistance from, CORE MMA, Hamilton SAMBO and SAMBO BOP hold the first Waikato/BOP Open.
A total of 14 entries spilt into Four weight divisions made for some great match ups!
A Sport SAMBO only rule set was structured for those new to the art of SAMBO, but willing to enter onto the mat and give it a go.
Awesome to see those with other martial arts backgrounds who have never trained SAMBO jump onto the deep end and have a go.
That's what SAMBO is all about, supporting each other, respecting one another and showing a high level of determination.
